What is your favourite thing about designing/developing for ecommerce?
Ecommerce is constantly changing due to a highly-evolving digital landscape. Every single day there's something new that disrupts traditional methods for building things online. It forces us to respect creativity, take risks and relentlessly acquire knowledge. This is what makes it fun. It's not repetitious - therefore it's easy to stay passionate because every project is a new learning experience. A new opportunity to invent the status quo.
What ecommerce trend do you hate?
The idea that Conversion Rate % is the most important metric.
Where do you go for design/development inspiration?
What’s your favourite web font?
I'm currently in an Adelle Sans phase
What’s your jam while working?
I run through the Hypem.com/popular playlist daily.
Who’s your current ecomm crush?
Anyone who spends the time to curate content that speaks the same language as their visitors: Of Mercer, Frank Body. Nordstrom.com (on the web and the mobile app) is bringing some serious heat to the enterprise game. I'll be honest with you - a robust content strategy around customer engagement is by far the superior method of creating die-hard loyalists - one who bleed your brand's values. Personalized homepages like Nordstrom.com, or teams flexing the capability of Shopify Sections motivate repeat visitors strictly because they consistently deliver fresh, compelling content.

What’s your favourite Shopify app and why?
Yotpo. Their entire team carries deep knowledge of the technical ecosystem and always guide us to glory if we ever need assistance.
How did you start designing Shopify sites?
I'm a self-taught designer/developer. While freelancing around 5 years ago, I had a client who had an eCommerce storefront on Volusion. It was impossible to have any sort of design flexibility without a custom platform...but then I discovered Shopify and built the dream I originally promised. This client now generates over $1million annually, and in my opinion wouldn't have been possible without Shopify. Shopify is the only platform where you're truly limited by your imagination.
What’s the best design advice someone has given you?
Trust your intuition.
What Shopify project are you most proud of?
BVAccel.com. - built on Shopify :)
